FIR East Recap Print E-mail

This past Saturday we kicked off our Summer swing competing in NASA-TT @ FIR East. There was more than a track record up for grabs... With our engine failure in our last event the crew had to work hard and get the car ready for this event and they came through in fine style! We arrived @ FIR East with plenty to work on as we needed to dial in our setup for this track, get Brian up to speed and continue with Matt Noble's driver development. We went back to our notes from last year and used that as our starting point for the morning where it was clear the car was ready to run. Unfortunately after 2 session the engine decided it wasn't ready to run, or at least @ cooler temperatures. So the crew went to work, diagnosed the problem and it was off to AutoZone to buy the necessities! Upon my return the team was waiting to put everything back together and we were back on our way only losing one session along the way. However, that didn't deter the team as we got the car ready to battle the heat for the remainder of the afternoon. Brian and myself double-stinted the car and put in some great laps all while gathering useful data we'll put to use @ our next event PIR May 3rd and 4th. At days end we won our class, set a new track record and became an even stronger team!
